  • Right out of college, I joined UPS, not behind the wheel of a truck, but behind the scenes managing facility and logistics projects that kept everything moving. From designing conveyor systems to overseeing the construction of a tractor shop, I learned what it takes to turn ideas into real, functional spaces.

That curiosity for how things get built quickly became a passion. I started flipping homes, learning construction sequencing, budgeting, and design from the ground up. Each project deepened my understanding of how thoughtful planning transforms a space from simply working to truly working well.

That foundation led me to higher education, where I joined Saint Mary’s College of California to oversee capital projects that shaped the campus, from academic buildings to athletic facilities. Over the years, I grew into the role of Vice President for Facilities, leading teams and projects that would serve generations of students.

But even at the top, I noticed a gap. Institutions have the vision and the heart, but often lack the time, bandwidth, or internal alignment to see their capital projects through with creativity and precision.

That realization became the catalyst for The Build Society, a way to bring clarity, efficiency, and purpose to the spaces that define an institution’s legacy.
